The Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art, as well as the Serralves House, are located in the Serralves Park, which covers about 3.5 hectares and has belonged to the Serralves Foundation since 1989. Designed by the architect Marques da Silva, the Serralves House is the only example of Art Deco in Portugal. With the construction of the current museum, designed by architect Siza Vieira, it has hosted the best contemporary art exhibitions in Portugal, which together with its permanent collection and gardens, make it a must-see in Porto.
