WEEK PRICE

The Crystal Palace was inaugurated in 1865. Built in stone, iron and crystal, it was intended to house industrial, agricultural and artistic exhibitions. On the date of its inauguration, the first Portuguese International Exhibition was held, where more than 3000 national and international exhibitors participated. In 1933, the City Council bought the Palace and its grounds, leading to its demolition in December 1951 to make way for the Sports Pavilion. Despite the new construction, they kept the romantic gardens, designed in 1860 by the German landscape gardener Émile David.
