The Igreja de S. Francisco is the best example of gothic architecture in Porto. In the 18th century Baroque gilded woodcarving was applied to its interior, making the church more attractive and recognisable as an example of religious architecture. In 1833, the convent's installations were destroyed as a result of a fire caused by the Miguelista troops. With the extinction of the religious orders in 1834, the church served as a warehouse for the Customs House until 1839. In 1842, the cloister destroyed by the fire gave way to the construction of the Palácio da Bolsa. Bedroom with 140*190 cm double bed located on the ground floor of the Guest House.
